Who was Louis Léger?
Louis Léger (1843 - 1923) was a French writer, professor at the Parisian Sorbonne and a pioneer in Slavic studies, who supported the idea of an independent Czech state.
The first official name street was given in 1885 - Táborská. In 1919 it was renamed to Legerova street. From 1940 to 1945 the name changed to Havlíčková, from 1945 to 1978 again to Legerova, from 1978 to 1990 it was called Třída Lidových milicí, and since 1990 again Legerova.
