Rostislav Petčenko, founder and co-owner of the GARTAL group, has passed away

It is with deep sorrow that the GARTAL group announces the passing of its founder and co-owner, Mr. Rostislav Petčenko, who died on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, at the age of 41 after a long illness.

Rostislav dedicated a significant part of his professional life to the real estate market and the development of residential construction. He was born in Kherson, Ukraine, and came to the Czech Republic at the age of sixteen.

While still a student, he started as a real estate agent. Together with his university friend Andrej Zajcev, he then founded GARTAL, where he took over the management of business, finance, and sales. Gradually, he built it into a strong company that is now one of the major Prague investment groups, where development, the construction company, and the investment fund complement each other.

For Rostislav, business was not just about building new apartments. People, teamwork, the quality of projects, and the search for new ways to constantly push the company's results and work forward played an important role for him. As a true visionary, he believed that real value lies not only in completed projects but above all in the people behind them, who always came first for Rostislav. His passing represents a great loss for his entire family, all employees, business partners, and others who collaborated with him during his professional life.

Rostislav always thought about the future of the group and relied on a team he trusted. We continue his work with the same diligence with which he built it. His legacy remains our greatest commitment and inspiration.
